Sometimes bad things happen…

Well, I decided to host my site on my own server. So I took a started off taking a thin client and plugged a compact flash card into it and installed FreeBSD, Apache, MySQL, PHP and WordPress. For a first try it really went quite well, but after some time the entire system crashed frequently. I found out that the CF card was not a reliable solution (not wondering at all about that). After setting up a real Fujitsu/Siemens Server with Ubuntu, Nginx, MySQL, PHP and WordPress my world was turning again. Except that I could not find the latest backup of my site anymore. To be precise I expected the backup to be on the scrambled CF card. So an old backup had to do, and I am still in the process of reconstructing and updating my site which will definitely take quite a while…
